Not being a huge music fan I generally tune out those parts of the broadcast, giving them little thought and relegating them to the background noise. They have music interludes throughout the broadcast, some short and maybe between stories, and some longer ones at regular spots on the clock. I've also got to get my factory making the basics like assemblers, miners, belts and stuff.Ī bit off the beaten path: The other day, like maybe two days ago, I was listening to NPR's Morning Edition catching the news as I got ready for work. I'm thinking 40 science labs for myself is a little fast because I've run into spots where I can't put the factory down fast enough and run out of science. I finally got blue science online, need to tweak some ratios (debating on whether I go back to EVERYTHING goes on the main bus or work out the gear wheels better). I'm not sure where to go with Katherine of Sky's series. Alt key toggles extra information, like what your furnaces are smelting). I'd like to see where Mortus goes with his series. For example, in their last SpaceX campaign where all the spaceX costs were multiplied by 10, they ignored the guy who built the gigawatts of solar capacity they needed to run the base. So, I think it downplays how long it takes to build a base that large.

The biggest problem with this series is that there's jumps of 8 to 10 hours worth of either outpost creation, railroad network, restamping tilable blueprints, and a lot of 1 tile to the left, nope I meant 2 tiles to your other left. Their "starter base" basically runs 4 lanes of iron, 4 lanes of copper and one of steel at blue belt speed using steel furnaces. Xterminator and ColonelWill and a few others are currently building a base for 1k science packs per minute (including space science packs, which would take 1 rocket launch per minute).

I prefer mostly vanilla with minor mods and super sizing. MadZuri isn't really interesting to watch, but he's good at optimization and design. I mostly watch Xterminator (who plays a lot with ColonelWill) and takes much of his designs directly from MadZuri. It really gets going when they're playing with Mangledpork/bentham? in their MASA series. Steejo is okay, but is better when he's interacting with Arumba (and vise versa).

I sometimes peek in on what Arumba is doing, but his mod list is almost a mile long and takes as long to download (180mb?). Still actively avoiding Arumba's Angels/Bobs runs, it just melts my brain. I'm very impressed with Katherine of Sky's Factorio Youtube channel. Today I watched the first two episodes of Scarhoof's Train/Death/Marathon world, where he shows his efforts at 3x speed and talks over what he's doing and what his plans and restrictions are, looks like a good series. He has started a new 0.15 series, which is an island spawn, using mods, mostly Factorissimo2, I'm very interested in seeing what he does with it.īeen watching Steejo play through 0.15, but he's actively annoying. Zisteau has retired his Meiosis Youtube series (at episode 48), it was a fascinating series. I regularly watch a bunch of people, so here's some channel suggestions. Youtube and Factorio works really well together.
